Fr. Peter Blake

Fr. Peter Michael Blake was born on Sept. 15, 1957 to John & Katherine Blake, the 7th of eight children, in the town of Bellows Falls, Vermont.  It was in the early days of grade school that he heard the call to be a priest. In 1975, after High School, he joined the Mill Hill Fathers, a missionary order based here in St. Louis. He entered Cardinal Glennon College, the Archdiocesan minor seminary and graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He continued on to Kenrick seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity in 1983. He was ordained to the priesthood on Dec. 15th, 1984 by then Archbishop, John L. May.

His first assignment was to Good Shepherd, Ferguson, then to Most Sacred Heart, Eureka, Immaculate Conception, Union where after 5 years as the associate, he was named pastor. He was appointed Pastor of Assumption Parish, Mattese in 2000, Sacred Heart Crystal City in 2004, and Our Lady of Sorrows in South City in 2009, and now Pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist, Richmond Heights, and Sacramental Minister to the community of Immaculate Conception, Maplewood, June 27, 2017.

Fr. Pete has a love of Church music and liturgy and has composed several Mass settings and other liturgical pieces. He is also a dog lover and brings to St. Luke’s his family of three spoiled Springer Spaniels.
