The Most Holy Trinity

June 11, 2017

Dear People of God,

We have just received our third and fourth air conditioning repair estimates which means that we can select one and get a start date to replace the chiller.  I will meet with the Finance Committee and Parish Council, and anyone who would be interested.  To give all of us a sense of what we will consider, the proposals range from $50,000 to $70,000.  We can now apply for an Annual Catholic Appeal grant, which requires three written estimates.   A reminder, receiving a grant is not guaranteed; the maximum possible to receive is $25,000.  We still await the invoice for the sewer stack replacement in the rectory.

We provide hospitality for two seminarians, Josh Deters and Steve Kalinowski.  Josh is “working” at the New Cathedral, learning much about the Mass, by preparing the necessary arrangements for weekend Masses and Confirmations.  Steve helped at Kenrick Glennon Days this last week for young people to come to the seminary to learn about their faith and perhaps consider a religious or priestly vocation.  When he has time with us at St Luke Parish, he will learn a little about office procedures and preparation for Sunday homilies (sermons).  If you see these young men about the church on weekends, feel free to introduce yourself and visit with them. They are fine and good representatives of our archdiocese.

Thank you everyone who has prayed for my elderly mother.  Our family appreciates your prayers!

St. Joseph, Pray For Us.

Fr. John-Paul
