20th Sunday in Ordinary Time

August 14, 2016

Dear People of God,

Please start praying for God’s grace to come upon many hearts, and for those who wish to get closer to heaven and Jesus, that they will be moved to contact us at St. Luke for the coming academic year of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), where we can address their needs and give them Baptism and Holy Communion.  Last year, Al Dowling incorporated Deacon Dave Osmack into the Wednesday night program and everyone was pleased to have visits from Fr. Bob Boisaubin.   With all of this talent, we are sure to have a great 2016-2017!  There are people around us whom God is calling to a better relationship with Himself.  Please review your friendships and neighborhood acquaintances to invite any of them, who are ready, for a real relationship with Jesus.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Mass Schedule Meeting at Olympia Kebob House & Taverna on McCausland, August 1st.   With some hard listening, and charity toward all involved, we were able to make small adjustments of thirty minutes in order to keep everything we wanted.  I hope we enjoyed meeting our parish council counterparts from Immaculate Conception parish; our spiritual welfare is linked to them, and they are linked to us.  Remember, the new schedule starts August 27/28.  Special thanks go to John Weiler who made reservations for us and shepherded the announcements and other arrangements.

Along with the schedule change, August 27/28 will be Fr. Tony’s last weekend with us.  Please avail yourselves of the opportunity to wish him bon voyage. We hope you all can join us on August 21 after the 10:00 Mass for a farewell reception for Fr. Tony.

May St. Luke Bless Us All,

Fr. John-Paul
