16th Sunday in Ordinary Time

July 17, 2016

Dear People of God,

Since last Sunday and my talk about violence, have you heard any public person propose a practical solution to our national violence and racial difficulties?  There is no solution in “the world.”  All peace comes from God; it makes sense to ask God for peace and guidance in taking practical steps to make our lives better.  That said, our Young Adults group will present a  “P-3” event Thursday, July 21, starting at 6:30 pm in the church.  Penance, prayer and potluck with fill out the evening.  This is a way we can live righteously with God and each other, and begin to save the world, no kidding! Please join us!!

I will be joining the on-line givers in our parish, twenty-one of them.   The program has worked smoothly, and our donations have increased, for which Laclede Gas, Ameren, and myself are very grateful.

We are all in this together, such that we want to thank three wonderful young people from Little Flower School, Grace, Julia and Chloe, who collected some service hours by cleaning our Church over these past few weeks.  Our Office Manager, Donna Mueller, made the arrangements and supervised them.  Perhaps in the future, we will have the opportunity to serve the Little Flower parishioners?  We are in this together.

Come, pray for peace,

Fr. John-Paul
